David Carney devotes his practice primarily to workers' compensation defense. He is admitted to practice before all state courts in Mississippi, United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He is also admitted to practice before all courts of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. He is a member of the American Bar Association, The Mississippi Bar and The Madison County Bar Association.

David graduated from the University of Mississippi and received his J.D. degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2004.

David resides in Madison with his wife, Emily, and their children Sarah Catherine and Nathan.
