Chris Walker is a founding member of the firm and devotes his practice primarily to the defense of medical litigation. Chris is rated AV Preeminent 5.0 by Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings methodology, the highest numerical rating within the AV rating category. He handles all types of civil litigation, but concentrates on personal injury defense, including medical malpractice and product liability predominantly for hospitals, hospice, home health, physicians, nurses and other health care personnel, both insured and uninsured. He has served as liaison counsel for several insurance companies in Mississippi’s breast implant and pharmaceutical litigation, involving Baycol, Oxycontin, Propulsid, Rezulin, Stadol, Thimerosal, Serzone, Paxil and Ultram. Chris is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Mississippi, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He is an elected member of both the Federation of Insurance and Corporate Counsel and the International Association of Defense Counsel. Chris has also served on the Hospital Law Committee of the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association. He has been a speaker at seminars on trial advocacy in litigation and medical malpractice defense and most recently, on defense of physicians in pharmaceutical litigation.
Chris is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Chris’ Elder Law practice focuses on litigation of legal issues of aging people, as well as their heirs.
Chris graduated from Millsaps College in 1973 and received his J.D. degree from the University of Mississippi in 1977. He was appointed Special Assistant Attorney General to the State of Mississippi in 1984 and was retained as Special Counsel to the Attorney General of the State of Ohio from 1986 to 1990.
Chris resides in Madison with his wife Carly. In his spare time he is a Licensed Park Guide at the Vicksburg National Military Park, in Vicksburg, MS, enjoys riding his 250 Vespa and working out. |
